Hospice Philosophy
•The purpose of hospice services is to manage symptoms and relieve pain to the extent possible in terminally ill patients, usually at home. This will allow the remaining life of the patient and their family to be as full and meaningfully comfortable as possible.
•The hospice philosophy essentially proposes to neither hasten or postpone a natural death.
•For most patients, the first priority is the management of pain.
